GENERAL CONTEST RULES
We are conducting these events in accordance with the Official Armlifting USA Rules for each event.
Wearing the contest shirt is mandatory. Order of lifters determined by opening attempt in rising bar format.
Powder or block chalk are the only grip aids allowed. No liquid chalks, alcohol solutions or alcohol wipes are permitted. Any competitor using any alcohol solution or liquid chalk will be immediately disqualified from the competition. Towels will be provided by the contest director. Any athlete suspected of foul play will be disqualified by contest management.
Athletes can switch hands as needed during their attempts for Rolling Thunder.
Athletes can start at whatever weight; they do not have to start at the opening weight but if the athlete misses their opening lift, they will get a ZERO on the scoresheet for that event.
Athletes can skip weights and do not have to take every weight jump. They will get 30 seconds to complete their lift.
In all lifts, athletes must fully lock out the weight, show control, and look at the judge for a down command. Once given the down command, athletes should then return the weight back to the ground with their hand still on the implement. Judges will not give a down command unless these requirements are met!
Awards are given out for 1st – 3rd place in each weight class. Points are determined on a percentage basis and accrue towards the overall standing. Scoring will be out of 300 points in each weight class with each event having the same weight towards the overall score. The maximum score for an athlete that wins each of the three events in his/her weight class is 300 points.
