This Strongman Corporation sanctioned competition for beginner to high amateur level strongman/strongwoman.  The intent is to introduce men and women to the

great strongman sport.  Open to all interested athletes.

Events

  • Farmers Walk
    • Athletes will begin behind the start line with hands on the handles. Athletes will have 60 seconds to run the farmers down and back for a total of 90 feet. Score is measured as fastest time or distance. Weight listed is per hand.
  • Axle Clean and Press
    • Athletes will have 60 seconds to clean and press as many reps as possible. Athlete must wait for a down command from the judge. Down command will be given when arms are locked out, feet are under the body, and bar is under control.
  • Duck walk to Power Stairs
    • Athletes will grab weights and duck walk 20 feet to the power stairs where they will ascend three 17″ stairs. Time will stop when implement is entirely on the third step or time limit is reached at 60 seconds.
  • Wrecking Ball Arm Over Arm Hoist
    • Athletes will stand at the top of the power stairs stradeling the top. Arm over arm pull on rope with hammer curl grip (thumbs facing up) to raise wrecking ball until it reaches the top of 4.5 feet. At the down command of the judge, athletes will reset weight and begin again until time at 60 seconds.

Strongman Classes held every Strongman workouts Saturday and Sunday 11 AM to 3 PM at The Training Hall by Odd E. Haugen.Classes are free for members, non-members can participate for $25.00 drop-in fee.

Entry Fees

  • Entry Fee: Early BY 06/15/2026):  $100.00 (Teen/Novice/Masters pay $70);
  • Register by 07/10/2025: $120 (Teen/Novice/Masters pay $90) and late entry $150
  • ENTRY DEADLINE: 07/10/2026 (late entries $150.00)

Scoring:

Timed Disciplines shall be hand timed, and distances shall be measured by standard measuring device.  The score in a Discipline shall be determined by placement and based on the number of athletes starting in the first Discipline of the contest. If the number of athletes is 10; then winner of an event gets 10point, second place 9 points etc. If an Athlete pass on a Discipline or fail to get a measurable result in a Discipline, he will receive 0 points (i.e. fails to get one repetition in a Discipline for maximum repetitions, fails to lift the opening weight in a max lift, fails to participate in Discipline etc.).  The score for a placement shall remain the same through an entire competition.

**Weight categories with less three (3) registered athletes on July 10th will be combined with next category above; but using the weight of the lowest weight category athlete registered.**

Qualifying

  • 1 athlete in a class: the promoter may merge the class with another class; if the athlete competes alone they will earn an invite by completing (i.e. not “zeroing”) at least 4 of the 5 events to the standards originally set forth by the promoter.
  • 2-4 athletes in a class: 1st place qualifies for Nationals
  • 5-9 athletes in a class: 1st and 2nd place qualify for Nationals
  • 10+ athletes in a class: 1st-3rd place qualify for Nationals

  • Weigh-in Friday at The Training Hall 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM
  • Saturday:  LATE Weigh-in 8:00 AM
  • Rules Briefing 8:30AM
  • Contest 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

  • 9:05 AM Farmers Walk set distance for best time
  • 10:30 AM Clean and Press Axle for reps (clean each rep)  (all categories in pairs starting with the lightest in reverse order of finish in previous event)
  • 11:30 AM MEDLEY:Duck walk to Power Stairs  (all categories in pairs starting with the lightest in reverse order of finish in previous event)
  • 12:30PM Wrecking ball arm over arm hoist.  (all categories  starting with the lightest in reverse order of overall standing)
  • 2:30 PM AWARD CEREMONY
